Not a bad result as first model and texturing, already put in-game too. About the textures, try to save them in .tga format, and probably you won't have those problems. For the reflections, see if you have enabled them from the game options, but sounds a bit weird that a scratch made problem don't have textures; try to calculate the normals.

It's pretty weird that now after the texture change it crashes in-game. The textures have to be saved in 24 bit without RLE compression, but this won't let crash the game. If you want, upload it somewhere and PM me the link, I'll give a check and I'll tell you what's the problem.

When you saved the file as tga, you have to reassign it to the material in ZM. In ZM, just open Material Editor, select material name, switch the primary texture to your new tga file, save, export and make the ar again.
For reflections, try adding a reflection texture. Again, in Material Editor, right under the Primary Texture where it says Reflection texture, activate it and load a reflection texture (remember to put it in the texture folder first). Reflection textures cannot be just anything, they are special. You will have to search around for them. OH! There are 2 that come with Zmodeler, check its directory. Also, check some other cars' ar files. Like my RX-7 (can be found here at MM2X) has a really good one.
And if the reflections still dont appear, try calculating normals.
Finally, if all else fails, read this.

The problem is that the textures called detials.tga and wheel.tga have wrong sizes; they're respectively 200x200 and 600x600, while they have to be respectively 256x256 and 512x512. Change their sizes and the car will work in-game.
You can improve it by using the lights, shadow and bound objects from this file (import it in your car .z3d file and adjust the materials). Also, use the function Surface...
