I was very excited when I saw the car on MM2X. I downloaded it as it was the only mod car on my folder. Trouble is that every time I want to select it for any race mode or even free roam, the game crashes. I need to know how to fix that.

Try deleting your "Players" folder. If that doesn't work, try setting the game to hardware mode (many cars won't work in software mode), with texture quality set to "Very high (AGP)". Make sure you restart the game after changing the graphics settings, and before selecting the car.

Could you link the page from where you've got the car? There's more than one BMW M3 GTR. However, usually it's weird that the game crashes with only one add-on car, at it crashes at the vehicle selection screen, apparently. If so, as said in the post above, delete the Player folder so to create a new savegame when you run again the game.

I'm assuming your talking about the one I converted that has the CMTegner livery?

Yes it is! When I immediately saw it, I downloaded it instantly. But the game kept crashing the instant I select it and continue.

Since the problem is caused by that car, the reason is given by the high resolution texture that it uses for the dashboard. Read what the download description note says here, you need to use an edited game EXE file.
