Why are there bananas coming out when I break a glass in MM2?

I experienced this thing in past. That's given by the .ar file of a specific add-on city or of a mod, that changes the broken glasses part from the with bananas, to be used for a new prop object it uses. I can't remember what it is now.
From the last screenshot that you've submitted, I can see that you use MM2 Overhauled! Mod, because of its new traffic lights. Maybe, that's the mod that causes it.

Ah, right, it's the Midnight Club 1 conversion of London that does it. I remembered of a screenshot in the gallery, good that you've found it. There aren't only bananas.
The solution to avoid that is to rename the .ar file putting it under the 4 default .ar files, like adding a "z" ahead the file name.
