New Widescreen Fix

Postby dummiesboy » Tue Feb 16, 2016 10:47 pm

About half a year ago, I made this mod for myself and released it on Facebook. Now it's coming to MM2X.

It's basically a total remake of the one included in Revisited. This patch works with resolutions up to 16:9 in width, not just 16:10 like the old one.
In addition to making them look right in widescreen, it also fixes numerous bugs. Misplaced cameras, inconsistent FOV values, and even incorrect speedometers and tachometers. It even un-stretches SF and London's hudmaps for good measure.

Here are some pictures. It will be up for download on MM2X soon.

Yes, steering wheels now turn as much as they did in MM1. By default, they almost didn't move.

Great work with the fixes 8). And Thanks for even bringing the slightest of MM1 in MM2.

I have check your dash mods, then:

- Original Dashboard: Steers a bit.
- Rv5's MainCars: Steers more.
- Rv5's WidescreenDashfix: Steers a bit. + It doesn't load in the game if you have the MainCars file, unless you put a "!"... (Fail.)
- RV5's New WidescreenDashfix: Steers more.

IMO i like the old style, it moves slightly like the wheel does, i will look if all cars steers more than the wheels with your New fix. (I only have tried TT.)

EDIT: I recommend to put the HUDMap patch as a separate file.

EDIT2: THE FIRETRUCK FOV IS GONE. YAY YAY YAY!!!!

The steering factor for wheels is identical to Revisited. If you don't like it, you're free to change it back. Only takes a few minutes. ;)

As for your ! problem, RV5 only has two of them by default. My widescreen patch has three, so there shouldn't be a problem. And there isn't, because I've been using both for awhile.
