Who else here plays MM2 in 32-bit color mode?

Postby Doof4294967296 » Sun Oct 25, 2015 12:04 pm

I play MM2 in 32-bit color depth. Believe it or not, it's true, all you need is a hex editing program for the gfxconf.cfg in the game directory. Yes MM2 runs perfectly in 32-bit. But one thing, it doesn't work on 640x480 resolution since it's the game's native resolution. So I play it in 720x540 or the full hd 1080p.

Everything is still 16 bit ingame. even at 32 bit color depth.

I know. The textures ARE still in 16 bit format, well atlease the shading is smoother when it comes to the vehicle reflection and the cop's siren lights.

Try with 32 bit textures, they still turn into 16 bit. Basically not worth it.

Unfortunately, If you use 32-bit textures you will see the texture in-game with lower color depth since the alpha channel takes place of it.

Seems even the alphas abide by the 16bit rules. Blurs do the talking .

Wut. The game either compresses it to RGB5551 or RGB565. It doesn't lower it because of an alpha channel.
