Ok I'm really confused now. Why are they different? The 3d view is the correct one. And in the back view the decal doesn't overlap the rear bumper. Anyways, what should I trust within these two?

Sometimes this just happens to me when I am making light effects for cars. In 3D view the glow shows up but in the 2D views they don't. I move them out a little bit then they show up.

This weird thing isn't new to me, but I guess that's an issue of all the views of ZModeler except the 3D one, and this last one, renders the mesh and the textures better than the others, indeed.
