That software requires you to run the game, take a "screenshot" with it, capturing a 3D model, and then importing it to a 3D software. Problem is it'll get all the captured model (wich includes the track itself) and everything as a single object.

You are talking about the 3dripperDX, not 3dsimEd ;) 3dsimed can import cars and tracks, its really easy

Yeah, 3DSimED can import the cars models of this game. Attention, this program is 20-days trial.

Well it'll be flatshaded and have a bunch of polys that are not visible. These cars aren't really the best to convert.

Shading groups can be fixed, vertices can be welded.

There are faces that connect to the same vertex twice, and they occur so many times in these models. The smoothing would take hours to fix as well, and there are backfaces that make fixing them take even longer. Imo it's not worth it.

Max has tools for those, and plugins. Default max has a duplicate vertex remover. And he can select by 'element' and click the inside to delete all the faces at once.

Cant select by element unless the faces are actually connected rather than all broken apart. I've just finished 4 hours worth of mesh fixing to just get one of the game models looking decent. Like I said, not worth it.
