There is no way to open locked files. ( Unless you're me :P )

The .ar file of that traffic mod isn't really locked, it can be all extracted using WinRAR, for example. It's got an extracting error, but the files are fine. The files in it are just invisible to WinZip, at least.

Nowadays most of the add-on files are locked but, obviously, the process is reversible. I know about a software that can export the files, but it doesn't work with all the existing locking softwares. And I don't have that software if you are going to ask me about it

This "locking mod files so other people can't edit it" thing isn't just in Midtown Madness 2 community, lots of other games modding communities do the same, but in the case of more popular games like GTA San Andreas you can find out how to unlock them after a 2 minutes search on Google. Midtown Madness 2 is just not so famous so nobody ever tried to make an unlocking software and make it downloadeable.

We have software to unlock anything, but we don't give it out to many people.

One possibility would be to rip those 3D models off by opening them in MM2CT or vehicle viewer, if possible.
We
Illuminati? :P

That software doesn't unlock many archives though. Only ones made with the AR Locker by Maxoff. Now people use other locking methods and it is obsolete :P

@e-cobra : About 4 people have it, it was given only to a few trusted people.

You need to extract them and convert the models to be player ones.

Use the MM2 vehicle viewer method. Download and open MM2VV, open the car pack ar. file and since it has more than 1 pkg. file on it, it'll appear a box with the list of the pkg. files. And then you know all the basenames :D works always, even if the file is locked. It's useful when you want to customize sounds or tuning of add-on cars.

Thank You!

The only thing i can do with the traffic cars is to add a .info in a unlocked .ar to get it work but the game will crash because i'm using the same basename than the non-drivable traffic cars. :P

The solution is to set the traffic density to 0.
