All MM2 Cars Top SPEED!

Postby FXANBSS » Tue Sep 02, 2014 3:08 am

Top Speed
Map of Testing: Speed Track
I also added all cars of Revisited v5 and others.

0 - 80 MPH Magenta
80 - 100 MPH Violet
100 - 120 MPH Blue
120 - 140 MPH Green
140 - 170 MPH Yellow
170 - 200 MPH Orange
200 - 500 MPH Red
500 - 1000 MPH DARK RED
1000 - 1118 MPH BLACK

100 MPH Cyan
1118 MPH WHITE

Things to know
The second MPH value is the speed trick one, to do it, just go to manual transmission, go to the highest gear and then go back to automatic, you will get extra top speed, sadly it only works in the VW New Beetle and Ford F-350, the other cars are slower with this trick, even some cars' top speed doesn't change with this trick.

Actually,
Panoz AIV Roadster | 179 MPH
F-350 | 115 MPH
London Cab | 128 MPH
Ford Mustang GT and Cruiser | 136 MPH

Btw, very accurate speeds. I believe GTR-1 with 289 MPH speed is very accurate answer. I had once same highest speed with it. I'm not sure about Dune with 136 MPH. I think it could go over 140 MPH.

I think you tested it on another map, i can't get more speed.

I've delayed like 30 minutes to test the Panoz GTR-1 and reached the end of the map,i think the Test is not perfect and i keep 289 MPH for 2 minutes.

All Tested on a flat map.

P.S: Cars are ordered by base name. :)
EDIT: Now it's ordered as the Midtown Madness 2 Menu says!

It's clear however that speed was more realistic in MM1 than in MM2! :P
(I mean GTR-1, come on, 465km/h  )

Pretty much everything about physics is better in MM1.

Some questions.

1. Why in Car speed track by Hummersrock with American LaFrance Eagle i got 109 mph and in Speed Track i got 108?
Probably of the position i am or the road material is different.

2. I only reached 289 mph with Panoz GTR-1 in Car speed track but in speed track i can't reach 289 due that the car starts crashing to the ground, why this happens more in speed track than in car speed track?
Probably of the position i am or the road material is different.

3. There is a program to see the speed with detail?
I mean decimals and those things.
Example: 108.583423 MPH

Lower the Panoz GTR-1's downforce in it's tuning files, Angel Studios put the down value to 1 so the car keeps getting pushed through the ground at high speeds.
Pretty much everything about physics is better in MM1.
Have you ever noticed on every drivetrain when you stop reversing the wheels just spin forwards.

Modifying his downforce can affect his top speed, so i don't try to do that.
Example: With the downforce you can reach higher top speed.

I thought drag lowered the top speed.

EDIT: Useless post, all AI opponents and cops uses the same tuning as player, so the _opp and _cop are unused.

Technical Question: How i can use the _opp or _cop tuning?

This is what i think how are the AI opponents and AI Cop.

AI Opponent
First they use the Player vehcarsim as base and later the _opp tuning.
This was made due that sometimes the _opp tuning have some missing values, so it uses the Player vehcarsim as base to complete the missing values.

AI Cop
First they use the Player vehcarsim as base and later the _cop tuning.
This was made due that sometimes the _cop tuning have some missing values, so it uses the Player vehcarsim as base to complete the missing values.

This is true?
So i need to copy all the _opp or _cop values to the player vehcarsim and replace the values with these?

I thought drag lowered the top speed.
It does. Or at least it is supposed to. That's why the Dodge Daytona would be able to run at 170 and a R/T with the same drivetrain would only reach to 155.

The drag and down values can modify speed.
You increase drag and decrease down values, the car will be slower, if you do it viceversa, it's faster.

_opp is used. _cop is not.

I have modified the _opp file several times but in-game it doesn't seem to have effect, the opponents are the same to me.

Probably the _opp files are used by other things.
