How are FNDRs used

Postby BUGATTIMAN253MPH » Wed Feb 26, 2014 8:16 pm

How do I add in FNDR files to my car without a crash? I've applied the FNDRs as brake calipers to one of my personal car projects, could it be the bangers? I used the FNDR bangers from the panoz roadster.

Bad idea. They won't show in far distances then. Better add them in.

To let work a car with the FNDR objects, is always needed to make at least the _M LOD copy of the main _H ones. The _L ands _VL ones are sort of optional. Obviously you must always put the ":m" part too, but it should be enough if present only to the _H object, because that suffix is used only by the ZModeler's PKG filter for the generation of the object's .mtx file.
The .dgbangerdata files for them are required too, otherwise the game will crash when the car gets all destroyed and the FNDR objects fall off.

If you use them for small and already pretty hidden parts like the brake calipers, how can you be able to notice them in very far distance? Even 1 pixel should be too much for them. :P
However, in case you want that, it's enough have only the _L LOD copy instead of the _M one.

So FNDR0_H:m and FNDR0_M:m?
Yes, and obviously also FNDR1_H:m and FNDR1_M:m. The _M one is just a copy of the _H one.
