The original cars don't have engine sound, How do I fix it?

The original cars don't have engine sound, How do I fix it? The mm2aud files are in the folder, and I have not used mods yet, and I know that the games audio works... I have downloaded cars and tested this.

So, only the player cars haven't their engine sounds? Do they have the horns? But do the rest of the game sound work?
The problem is weird but not new. How have you got your copy of the game?

Thanks for replying, but I have fixed the problem. I used an original disc to install, and some how the audio files had not finish compressing before I used the program.
