Now, go in the Materials Editor, select the new material made for the purpose with the assigned copied and edited texture, and click on the Assign to selection button on the bottom-left corner of the window.
New material? I only selected the part I have to, how can I make it as a new material?

The new material has to be made from the Materials Editor, as I'd written, it has nothing to do with the selection that you've made.
In the Materials Editor, choose the material with the texture where's loaded the hood/roof texture and click on Copy button. Now select the copied material, placed as last of the list, and click on the Assign to selection button. In this new copied material you have to load the copy of the hood/roof texture, the one that you've edited for the hood or the roof that you've selected on the car model.

Thank you very much Franch! :) It works. My only problem is that I can't select surfaces in Body_M, it only works for Body_H for some reason!

That's all, glad that you've figured out how do this.
About this problem, maybe can be because you're still in faces mode with the BODY_H object active. To "quit" from it, return to objects mode by pressing the button 4 (I'd already said this) and now press again key 3 for the faces mode and this time click on the BODY_M object to active it and do the same work. Successively continue with this way with the other two left BODY LOD objects, if you wish.
I remember you that in case the Separated selecting tool selects more polygons than the required ones (can happen that using it can get selected even all the model faces), cancel the selecting with CTRL+Z shortcut and use the Single selecting tool instead, to select the faces one by one.

Thank you very much Franch, I got it to work, I just gotta finish the textures then it is perfect. (I think I'm gonna vote for you as most helpful person 2012 :))

Another paintjob I wanna try to create for the Ford Mustang Fastback is this one here:

It will replace the purple one. I hope you like it! I know making so many special paintjobs takes more time, but it makes the mod better, I hope you can understand that! ;)

I am happy that this topic busted alive, I'm seriously hoping this will get finished, oh, and I had a thought.....What if you had to make a car with nothing but special paint jobs, not suggesting you should since you are close to being finished, but still, that would be an interesting challenge.

Just saying, anyhow, keep it up and have fun.

The London Cab is done. Sry for no progress in the last month.

This is called ghost glow. It looks like normal white, but if you take it at night it turns into a glowing ghost taxi in a scary neon green, I think I have to make the wheels brighter.

Nice colors for the London Cab, and very original choice with the last one, looks like those toys that glows in that way at dark; for me, the wheels are better as they are now, for a real floating ghost effect.

No problem for the waiting, great return with this mod, but now is better finish it ASAP, there's little still to do.
