Postby christoph0490 » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:51 pm

Hey Guys,

A famous map everybody knows I didnt found for MM2 is Hill Valley from The Trilogy "Back to the Future". It would be nice if somebody could create it.

Posts splitted as new topic, please don't post in older ones (the topic where you'd posted it's not about maps proposing).

Be quiet RacingFreak, this isn't a request at all. I don't know this Hill Valley map from those movies, but surely it's a good map idea for MM2. The fact is that now really nobody is making maps, just Sajmon, but he's in pause with the works at the moment.

I could easily get someone a .3ds version of that model if anyone wants to convert it to MM2.

So that's the map, it's just a little city place, I thought something different and hadn't searched about it. It's good as place to make screenshots and to do a little cruising. Really nice that model in SketchUp, once I tried to convert in .3ds format some of them but there were troubles with model fixing and texturing.

I tried to do a little map after a city-workshop in a forun, but when I startet the Game, ther only was the sky and black. Its very complicated and this time I'm working on a car, so at he moment, I am not able to try a city.

If and when you'll start the working with the modeling of this map, for the MM2 porting ask me, like you've done with the car that you're making.
Since the map is small wouldn't be possible have the traffic, but a solution there can be. First I'll explain you the main steps of how make it for MM2, then fix the possible problems.

Verry good idea. thanks alot.

Hill Valley is not only this little place (Its called curthouse-sqare). Its bigger. But its good to start with that place.

There also will be some streets with familyhouses, a tunnel, a school, a big parkingplace on a big Supermarket (Twin Pines Mall), a trainstation and something else...

So let me get this straight... you can make MM2 tracks in Google sketch-up?

Yes, you can, as long as you can use PRO to export 3ds or export to 3DSMAX with DAE exporter (not pro), then export to 3ds from 3dsmax, then import to Zmodeler and make objects, objects tutorial is here. :)
