Regarding MM2CT

Postby CarLuver69 » Mon Mar 14, 2011 8:27 am

I have heard bad things about the "ROAD_" objects. What are they? I really need to know because Motor Island has outer roads that do not have sidewalks, and I remember reading Maxoff's tutorial and how he said "ROAD_'s have problem so do not use them" or something along those lines...

BASICALLY, I need to know how I should go along making roads without sidewalks. Thanks!!

There really isn't anything wrong with them. I think in earlier MM2CT versions they didn't work as well.

They can have BAI with traffic as many say they can't, only problem is they get bound problems if make roads going up on turns/serpentines

Its no big deal, just make a simple strip of polies and name it ROAD_. Here is an example (ignore the black road and writing on it, I was explaining something to someone else. Study the brown road instead).

I think silent said that's only if you build them incorrectly. I think you can fix that, or at least keep it minimal. I know I didn't have many problems when using it for my remake of wilderness. Although most turns (especially the uphill turns) were high poly.

EDIT: Hah, Silent beat me to it. :P

Actually, Hummers is right, you have to make those a certain way. So just ignore the black road and study the brown road.
