Pics darker with FF3

Postby Riva » Tue Jul 28, 2009 1:30 am

Since I installed the latest Firefox version (I mean the 3.5.1), some pics (essentially from a phpBB forum) don't appear properly :? I didn't find the solution.

Here's two examples :

Any idea ?

It looks like this newer version of Firefox adds more contrast to pictures. You might be able to find the setting in about:config if you look, and change it to a neutral setting, or just lower. I haven't noticed this yet.

This is curious, I'm using the same latest version of FireFox browser and I haven't this problem. From the program settings there's anything about set the contrast or other parameters for the displayed pictures, and then, why should be possible do this? Maybe it's a bug of this version...

I found this :

https://developer.mozilla.org/En/ICC_co ... in_Firefox

I fixed the two settings but nothing changed so I found this :
The bug was noticed too close to the release for a fix to be included. It will be fixed in Firefox 3.5.1
Well 3.5.1 is out and the color problem was NOT resolved. Just great.
3.5.1 was rushed to fix a critical security issue, so the fix for this got bumped to the next version. Anyways, it's doubtful that you would have gotten it any sooner if 3.5.1 wasn't rushed.
Hopefully they'll fix it soon :?

Hmm, Well I doubt it, they probably forgot about it, but I hope they do. Maybe they made a list of fixes to do..?

IE 8 FTW! :)
I just think IE goes so slow.. Haven't used it for years now.. But Firefox is much nicer IMO because I have all my bookmarks, addons, etc in there.

Wow, Riva! I have this problem, too! :o I thought it has something to do with my monitor calibration. But it's truly that!

Hehe, I know but sometimes I'm using IE (especially for Windows Update) and ... I saw my website differently (icons, pics etc) so I checked the latest Franch's pics, anyway this problem is coming from FF3 :?

I'm using two extensions (GMail Manager & MS NET FW Assistant) and six plugins (DiVX Web Player, Mozilla default plugin, Quick Time plugin, Shockwave Flash, WMP plugin, WPF *disabled*).

I checked the QT options (PNG, GIF, JPG formats), nothing change in FF.
