Original Post:

Well I'm even though I already have about 2 or more other projects going, I'm starting a new one. Palm Sands 2. It will be like the first, a big, tropical map. This time, though, it will have animated water, modified palm trees, better textures and more.

So far only one little island and some water has been made, but I'm still working. I will post a screenshot or two when I get a good amount made. I will probably work one it a good amount today. So stay tuned.

Oh, and I've also done some more work on Crystal County. :P

Update: Anyways, the track has tripled in size, and is getting some objects now. So far I have added palm trees and will be working on other objects soon. Here is a small screeny of a little of what has been made so far:

Image

Update: Thanks. Yeah, really, none of theses textures are final. Like the sand texture needs to blend together better, and the rock texture needs some work. A good amount of the water will be water you can drive on, but it will all be animated and have the nice water effects.

I'm going to dig out a older version of mm2city toolkit to give the grass texture the effect I want without have the use the mm2gameloader.

I have made more to it, like more islands and stuff already. So it's getting made at a good rate. I plan on making it big and adding more land areas to it than the first, other things, and a big city, but probably no traffic. Testing another texture:

Image

Update: Well....wow. Hmmm. Well, Silent1unknown, I don't know about doing animals. I am planning on having sailboats and stuff moving around. You must be physic or something because I was planning on making a cave. I suppose I could also do a track and some carts.

I will make some new textures and try to make them good. I guess I might also rebuild and have ground below the water like you have suggested, but as you can see with my first Palm Sands that seems to cause the water to be black when not look at directly, which just does not look good.

Update: I tried doing moving objects, but for some reason the sailboat gets chopped in half and all that's left moving in-game is the sail. I tried the ferry but it moves sideways. Confused I guess I need perfect turns, so that will take some doing.

Also, it looks like I need to have the textures in my texture folder, so I might just sorta remake the original sailboat and do my own textures. I might have to put the pkg in an additional ar though, not sure.

Oh, and I've also made a cave. It's not complete though. I'm thinking of doing more then one. I'm also thinking of attempting traffic again, but maybe not.

Update: Got the sailboats fixed, planning on doing seagulls.

Image

Flying sailboat! :P Well, unfortunately, Silent, I cannot have moving objects jump out of the water or anything it looks like. Too bad. But seagulls are still possible. Even if you do no have the time to make them or do not want to, I sure am going to sometime soon. ;)

Maybe I'll do an airport. :o

Your new track projects look good and very interesting. Good to know that you'll use new features seeing only in the HQTM-Team tracks. :)

Textures still needs more work, as Silent1unknown has said. The objects in MM2 can do only horizontally; just lower the sailboat object.

Well, doing the sailboat flying was just a test. Yeah, I'm trying to do lots of different stuff for this track. I've been looking into doing more effects for my textures besides just water and grass. And have been looking into particle effects.

I like the palm trees. It's also a great improvement over your first Palm Sands. Keep it up! :D
I find the flying boat rather...interesting. :P

Thought I'd post another screeny for the heck of it.

Looks very nice, but it's in grayscale. :P Yeah, the textures are very good and their tile is good, but the grass texture seems more a straw texture.

I like it. Maybe the palm leaves could be a little flatter and broader instead of looking like a big needle-ball.

It isn't a new model, it comes from the game. Both the palm trees are in-game models.

HummersRock has planned to create animated textures for the water; the new one showed in the grayscale picture doesn't look so good.

Don't roll your eyes at my masterpiece! :P Yeah, it looks pretty bad, almost just one color. :| I will be doing a different one in the final version, along with a different grass texture, new road texture, maybe a different sand texture, and more.

For the water texture...well it's going to be a bit of a challenge for me to have it animated if I have to make all 20 to 25 textures...
