First Project C.A.R.S conversion for mm2 :o. Kewl. I'm in assumption you're doing the McLaren 570S '15 too.
You know I didn't rip this myself right? DMN, the founder of Gamemodels.ru did. But if he does rip the 570S then I might start that too if no one is already planning it by then. :wink:
And forget about the Front license plates, It looks smexy without them 8)
Too late! :P But there will be a patch to remove the license plates from the back and front. :wink:

I downloaded it immediately after DMN released it and to the shock of my life - 531504 polys. :scared: So I kicked it in the face - Hi-poly hate, nothing much. You're really gonna convert it ?

Yeah, why not ! You could add the plates as breakables and edit the dgbanger to a sensitive value such that a bird flies by or someone sneezes, it falls off :tongue:

50k+ polys are too much for this game, in my opinion. That car sounds like it's place is not MM2.

I did detach them from the body originally but the front license breakable didn't show up in game in the same way as the wheels sometimes vanish after export, but I did get it fixed again.
I hope it has many colors
There will be :wink:. I'm going to make a patch to enable the use of 6 more unofficial colors, but I'm going to need people's opinions on what 6 colors they want.

I don't think that Mclaren is from Project CARS. The Lykan only has about 50,000 polys.

A car model with a total of more than 50000 polygons for the BODY_H object can work in MM2, even if the _L LOD copy is of the same mesh. The main problem is the vertices count of it, that when exceeds about 55000 a game crash is foreseeable.

Surely this is an issue with the ZIP compression of the created .ar file. Use 7Zip program and its ZIP compression at default to be sure to get all the .mtx files to work properly.
I don't think that Mclaren is from Project CARS. The Lykan only has about 50,000 polys.
In fact, that model isn't from Project C.A.R.S. game, it's part of the 3D models collection gallery of GameModels.ru, where there are cars models not coming from games and with hundreds of thousands of polygons.

Exactly. Even any high poly car is in fact too detailed for this game but well, with some other mods like new traffic and improved textures are acceptable. But extremely high poly cars? :roll: Just for nowadays games, that's exagerated.

I do agree that they've added in too much unneeded detail into the car in places like the chassis and the interior. Please note that if anyone does experience performance problems with this car the only alternative I can suggest is playing with Matyii's version of the car since it has less polys.

I've updated the car again. This time it now features transparent grilles and has been also updated to support up to 10 colours. Pics coming soon.

Sorry, forgot to mention the 570s '15 isn't a Project CARS conversion. My bad. So, this could mean all Project CARS conversions are gonna be hi-poly ?

That was a great idea, did you thought about making a Mario Kart DS/ Wii car pack?

About the size think, well it's important to take in consideration it's a kart, and karts are meant to be small. You can use the pedestrians size as reference, since Mario is supposed to be the same size of them, I guess. I wouldn't take MMArchive models as reference because stuff from there doesn't have any quality verification or suffer improvments and fixes from the admins (basically it can have the scale the creator wanted and nobody cares about it, so the scale may not be correct :P ).
