I've heard that right now, it's better to stick with Directx 9. I guess with all of Vista you should just wait for sp2 and hope that it fixes all bugs.

i ran mm2 fine under vista but is wasn't the final release so I dunno if somethings changed maybe. Anyway if it doesn't work you can always run it under compatibility mode.

It also depends on how much RAM you have.

Isn't the RAM memory. That depends because if you add downloaded add-ons on MM2, the game will be instable (conflicts and memory overload problems, as the game says). MM2 doesn't use a lot of memory, it's ever an old game, and an old game has its limits. You know this Awalwang. :)

it runs fine under vista, all our computers here run vista and it works great (Just run with admin priviliges or it won't save your game).

It run's smoothly, i have this old XP computer that i gave to my mom and it just takes a long time to load but to me it seems it looks better on the XP one. They will probably have a patch for vista like for the xp one.
It does look really bad when you have a bad video card, i have this new vista with a 64 MB video card(laptop) and it runs good but you cant see the dash and it makes mm2 look all weird like diff. colors everywhere.
Thanks for the post it helped!

Midtown Madness 2 ran fine with Windows Vista on my computer and so it is not an issue for me. And that's with every setting cranked to the max and the resolution cranked to 1024x768. Of course, I may not be able to run multiplayer while running MM2 on Vista (and this may happen to some people), but since I did not use them, it's no big deal.
