I have got a new computer. And Midtown Madness 1 lags on the new computer. It works fine on the menu but it lags when I start a race.
I have:
Windows 8.1 64-bit
12 gb ram
Intel core i7-4700HQ CPU 2.40 GHz
GeForce GTX 860M
Is it any patch available anywhere to solve the problem?
If yes, where can I download the patch?
If no, can anyone create a patch or give me a tips?
The game works fine on my old pc.
MM1 lag problem

Are you on software video?
There is a video patcher available but I lost the website for it, and it won't be taken here because MM1 section isn't at MM2X until DB releases Revisited 3 (which won't happen).
I'll see to reupload it.

Also for MM1 there's the Windows XP Patch, it's good install it also if probably it won't help in this case. Lags problems in MM2 and so also in MM1 is a known thing.
If you aren't able to select Hardware Rendering mode you need to use the patcher tool that Aaro4130 made and is talking about, get it here.
Reply in PM for the details, Aaro4130 or Dummiesboy.

So far it's still decided so, but it may be changed. How come MM1 Revisited V3 won't be no more released? It's still in hiatus state, and it's left a little concerning the 360 degrees skies.MM1 section isn't at MM2X until DB releases Revisited 3 (which won't happen).

If I remember right, the first will be software, second will be hardware, third will be hardware with T&L.I dont know if I am able to select Hardware Rendering mode or not.
I have 3 alternatives for renderer but I cant read the text becauce it is distored.

Ok, I am able to select hardware mode the game lags if I use hardware mode. It works fine if I use software mode. On my old pc can I run the game even in hardware mode and the game works fine. But I want to play the game in hardware mode on the new pc without lag. I wonder what the problem is because the new pc has better cpu and video card than the old pc.
I wish also a patch so I can read the text and get the text normal.

As said, it's a known thing that these old games get running problems with recent systems and operative systems such as Windows 8.1. The most recent hardware can even cause problems when the game is too old and developed for the hardware specifications of its days.
I wonder and ask to Whoami if this procedure can also work with MM1. It's a procedure about how play MM2 on Windows 8.1 without lag.

MM1 was based on the same libraries as MM2, so it will lag indefinately, try without HUD or anything and report back if having no hud (mirror, map, timers) makes no lag.

No idea if it works that way... it should, but it's not the best idea if you want to play MM1 in Windows 8.x. As Aaro4130 said, turning the HUD and stuff off is your best bet.I wonder and ask to Whoami if this procedure can also work with MM1. It's a procedure about how play MM2 on Windows 8.1 without lag.

Sorry for being late. Try a square resolution (e.g 800x600). It fixed it for me
