Homemade remove all default cars mod crash

Postby BUGATTIMAN253MPH » Sat Apr 05, 2014 12:05 pm

Today I decided to remove all the default cars from MM2, so to do that I extracted the info files from deAR2, just as a test I only put the empty cab.info file into the mod and it worked, not showing in the car in the selection screen whatsoever, but when I tried all the cars and booted up MM2 the game crashed during the splash screen. Anyone have this problem and any fix?

I think you delete the "players" folder in your MM2 directory - else the old player records will keep looking for default cars.

'during the splash screen'

Then you most likely did one wrong, There is a mod like this that is contained in Revisited 5 you could take a look at.

Whoami's explain is right, with this kind of game patching/modding, that's to remove all or some of the default cars, is always requires the deleting of the old player profile and the creating of a new one.
This is explained also in the little mod to remove all the default game cars included in the MM2 Revisited V5 mod archive. Note that an add-on car must always be included, better if it's the empty one to avoid the paintjobs number related game crashing problem (included and explained in MM2 Revisited V5 mod archive too).

So, would this allow for more space for mods?

You mean if you can add some more add-on vehicle than the usual quantity. It's not really so, about this won't change anything, because the game will always read and load the files of the default cars.
The only real advantage of remove the default cars from the vehicles selection list, is have more space to read and select the names of the add-on ones.
