New mod: Cartoon MM2

Postby Diatosta » Sun Nov 04, 2012 6:38 pm

Did a clean to the post. All links are gone, except the last two ones.

Beta v7 (Mini Cooper finished and finally added a Readme!): https://adf.ly/F05da

Beta v8 (Mustang (almost) finished and intersections and (part) of the sky made): https://adf.ly/FDRHe

This version already has the cop wheels.

Note: This also work (or conflict) with other maps, like Megamod2SE SF and London (the only ones that I tested ;) )

If you people test and see something strange or not good enough, tell me and I'll try to improve them ;)

Completion: 4,6%

Completion 'till now:

Cop Car:

Cab car:

Image

Mini Cooper Classic:

Mustang GT '99 (lol, Dat sky):

And all roads, intersections, ped streets and 1 building and 1 sky finished!

Good textures changing mod idea. I don't find well made the road, it's not good to see with all those black pixels. Also, try to use better ways to edit the textures.

Update! Now all roads, grass and some buildings made! :D

Beta here: https://adf.ly/ENcHs

Attention! It's not compatible with any retexture mod (SF Repainted, SM2, RV5 (the textures pack)).

I simply mean that the look of the texture edited so it's not good because of all those black pixels. With the grass texture is even worse the result looking at the new screenshots, and the stop sign pole looks like rusty or dirty. Also bad to see the lines of the texture tiling.
This isn't a cartoon-like look, that's made in cel-shading.

Still not good, the cartoon-like effect is absent. Ok leave the black borders, that need to be more thin, but the texture color have to be more plain. Use the image posterize effect for this (depends by which images editing program you're using).

That gives pretty nice cel-shade effect ;)

I actually think the black pixels are looking cool

Looking at it, I'd recommend removing reflections. You're talking to the person who watches only cartoons on the TV at the age of eleven :P

that last pic looks funny, cant wait to see whole sf this way.
the reflection files are: refl_dc (while driving) and refl_showroom (for the car selection screen). just make the textures completly black to remove the reflections.
