My new rig

Postby matt1314 » Mon Jun 25, 2012 8:57 pm

Hello everyone!

I needed more power and built my own system last week. Everything done by my own hands, took me like 1 1/2 days. Here are the specs:

Mainboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4, Sockel 1155, ATX

Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K, LGA1155

CPU Cooler: Thermalright HR-02 Macho

Main Memory: 16GB-Kit Corsair XMS3 PC3-12800U CL9 (DDR3-1600)

Graphics Card: MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC, 2048MB GDDR5

Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series

HDD: WD Caviar Green WD10EARX 1TB SATA 6 GB/s

SSD: Samsung SSD 830 128GB SATA 6 GB/s

ODD: LG CH10LS20 Blu-Ray ROM Super Multi Blue

PSU: Antec TruePower New TP-750 750W (with Blue LED)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit (OEM)

Case: Cooler Master 690 II Advanced USB 3.0 - NVIDIA Edition (ATX)

Monitor: ASUS VS248H 24'' LED Monitor, Full HD

Loudspeakers: Edifier C2 2.1 Soundsystem

Keyboard: Microsoft SideWinder X4 Tastatur

Mouse: Microsoft SideWinder X3 Laser Gaming Maus

Please leave some comments. Still got a few problems to sort out, hopefully they'll be gone soon. :) So far it works pretty well.

Very nice system, all the components are at an high level. Great choice for the top CPU (you should overclock it) and graphic card (actually the top powerful single-GPU graphic card). You've picked very good brands too, in particular for mainboard (ASRock is an ASUS brand, it has a great price-features ratio), RAM memory, graphic card (I love MSI's custom graphic cards), HDD (Wester Digital is the best brand for me, unlike Seagate/Maxtor) and case (one of the best brands). Not a great brand choice about the SSD, IMO, but it should have been done for less cost reasons; these kind of storage units still costs a lot and can give serious problems, but the things are going better, though.
I guess that you've spent a minimum price of 1800 Euro for all. The self buiding is a very nice experience, and money saving too. I see a good optional in this system a liquid cooling system shared for CPU and GPU, but it's another pretty high cost.

Thank you, Franch. :)

That SSD is highly recommended and one of the best nowadays, known for its longetivity. So I took this one, I listened to some computer experts on a forum. They recommended it to me.

Yeah, the costs were above 2000

Seems like not all problems have been sold and only one was left. It turned out very unconvenient: the mainboard was defective. Shipped it back to get hopefully a replacement.

Got a replacement and it seems to have solved my problem. Everything is working so far, so let's hope it'll stay like that for a long time.

Wow, sweet system Matt. I'm jealous, I'd love to build a new system.

Cool that you got an SSD. I would love to get one for my next build.

I hope your having a lot of fun with it! :) :P

Haha, thanks. :) Yeah, having all games running at like a minimum of 30 FPS with maxed out settings is really great.

I hope you'll build one yourself once. It was pretty difficult to me for the very first time but I managed to success. :)

Nice config matt!

@Quagmire69: our pc are better than pc from nasa, they have a clock with only 1,4 MHz and 1MB of memory, weighs 29 pounds, a cell is more faster than a pc from nasa :D
