Making six wheeled cars and with trailer

Postby sonicblast262 » Wed Jun 02, 2010 2:04 am

I have been modding a few default cars and now I have decided to mod the Freightliner Century semi and I am having a problem with the truck. In the selection screen all six wheels show up but when I select it, the last two wheels disappear. Does anyone know how to have six functioning wheels?

On a side note, I am having problems with the collision physics. When ever that truck hits a lamp post or heavier object, the race resets. Any tips on that?

Centered axles.
Check the objects list.

Only Body and the WHL_H:m's are needed in your account. BTW: if this is 6wheeled, you need to add the other wheels (objects) in tune\banger.

About the collision, I had this problem, don't remember how I fixed it. If it has breakables, try going to tune\banger and copy one of the files, and rename it similar to this basename_break01.dgbangerdata. I hope this helps, as I said, don't remember how I did it.

I double checked the object list and all the objects are there and I checked the tune files and all that is there as well. :?

Could the culprit be Zmodeler?

And about the collision problem, I have no breakable objects on the vehicle and the tuning has not changed from the default truck.

I am still having problems with the wheels. I tried four wheels and the collision problem went away then I tried replacing the model of a truck that has six functioning wheels yet only four were there.

I should have all the needed objects

You don't need all of these objects to test your six-wheels.

Just use these ones :

BODY_H
SHADOW_H
BOUND
WHL0_H:m
WHL1_H:m
WHL2_H:m
WHL3_H:m
WHL4_H:m
WHL5_H:m
WHL4_L:m
WHL5_L:m

[----WHL1_H:m-----]__________[----WHL3_H:m-----]___[----WHL5_H:m-----]

FRONT ____________________________________________________ BACK

[----WHL0_H:m-----]__________[----WHL2_H:m-----]___[----WHL4_H:m-----]

You should use the same prefix for each file (from GEOMETRY, JPG and TUNE).

Can you upload the car (Z3D + AR) from a free hoster (mediafire or more) ? Then give me the link, I can check this truck for you.

Thanks for the help. :D
Now one more question, can I add more objects to the car without messing it up?

Create- Objects- UniteSelect. Name it whatever, then rename it BODY_H. But sometimes, glass shows up unvisable. Tell us if this happens. A process is made to fix it.

By extra objects I mean exhaust smoke, breakables, and such.

You mean transparent windows, right?

Attention, you can't add exhausts if you're using fenders.

However maybe a solution exist.
- Deleted exhaust objects from the model (didnt delete the mtx and banger files)
- Went in game, and they were both happily visible
Not tried.

If he uses fenders, he can just attach them to the front wheels. I don't think it's visible on the truck anyway. A exhaust is a nice touch.

That method to add exhaust that Riva mentioned does work and I don't plan on adding fenders. I would like to add a trailer hitch though.

My best thought is to find a truck from GTA: SA with a trailer hitch, then add it to the body, be sure to delete unwanted textures.
