Different cop car or paintjob in each city.

Postby Teffre » Fri Aug 12, 2016 6:50 pm

Yesterday I installed the Corvette C6 Police Cop mod for MM2 and love the paintjob but I have a problem.

I want to use a different paintjob for each car for each city. How can I do this? :(

Example,
!!!!fcpdc6mod.ar for SF.
and
!!!!nfswc6mod.ar for London.

Thank you for your time and your reply!

It's really hard do that right with that cop mod. At least, it's possible to "disable" it in London or SF by making a very small patch placed above the mod files that "restores" the default cop cars of one of those two cities. Then, you use those different paintjobs add-on patches each at once.

Thank you for your help but how can I do this small patch?

I know about the ! ! marks and their ranks.

I tried to open it with winrar but it's locked.

I hope this explaining is understandable for you.
Download this tool and extract it in a new folder where you want; run it and open the file called mm2core.ar present in the main game folder (its default path is C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Midtown Madness2) clicking on the Browse button, and then click on the button List files; now, look and select the files called roam.aimap and roam.aimap_p in the path race/london if you want to make a patch to disable the effects of the mod in London, or choose the ones in the path race/sf if you want that in SF; click on the button Extract, close DeAR 2 and go in the main game folder and find the extracted folders with those files inside them; right click on the extracted folder called race and make a ZIP compressed archive with WinRar; rename it twith the .ar file extension add some "!" symbols ahead the file name; run the game, do a gameplay in SF or London to see that you've got the default Ford Mustang Cruiser cop cars in the city that you've picked.

Small Patch

Postby Teffre » Mon Aug 22, 2016 4:53 pm

Ok, I followed your tutorial and I got that working.

How can I do the next step?

vpcop -482.773346 5.000400 -885.897400 125.000000 0 15 0.500000 50.000000
vpcop -9.585618 5.000400 -938.561035 90.000000 0 15 0.500000 50.000000

Should I chance it to this? (My game crashed after that trying xD)

fcpdc6 -482.773346 5.000400 -885.897400 125.000000 0 15 0.500000 50.000000
fcpdc6 -9.585618 5.000400 -938.561035 90.000000 0 15 0.500000 50.000000

The procedure is already all that. You haven't to change the basename "vpcop", which is the one of the game default Ford Mustand Cruiser, if you want to "disable" the cop cars of that cop mod in SF or in London.
The basename of the police Corvette C6 is only one, and it's "c6copmod". The paintjobs patches just change the paintjob texture used by its 3D model, it doesn't add copies of the same car that use other basenames.

Ok,

It works well but I'am trying to use the two different car skins from the Bonus liveries folder in the game.

I think I understand how you would fix this problem but the patch blocks the entire mod and not just the skin... :?

The way that cop mod is made can't allow to use two different paintjobs, one for the SF AI cops and another one for the London AI cops, at the same time. The only thing to do is change the paintjob patch before run the game, when you want to have a specific one when you go to play one of the two game default cities.

???

Postby Teffre » Wed Aug 24, 2016 1:05 pm

I understand that but what would you do?

example

If I do it this way for example it will block fcpdc6mod.ar and rcpdc6mod.ar because kunal_c6copmod has less ! ! marks then the London paintjob blocker.

But as you can I see I want rcpdc6mod.ar for SF and fcpdc6mod.ar for London.

Can you show with pictures how you would fix this?

Still I want to thank you for your responses and time!

Greets, Teffre

I've understood that you want to do this, but because of the way this cop mod is made, and becuase it's locked, it can't be done. In the case it was possible to be done, then, it had to require some pretty long work that probably was going to be not worth.
The only way is the one that I've said in my previous post, using the paintjob patch that you want according to the default game city that you're going to play.

Lucky for you I'm currently working on Version 2 of the cop mod that should (hopefully) solve your problem. I thought this mod needed an update beforehand. It will take a while though due to very little free time.
