SM2 Gold questions

This is very good mod, i have it but i got a few questions.
1. Can it be installed without the installer exe?
2. Is it compatible with MM2 Revisited?
3. Does it come with custom skies?

It's compatible with a old MM2 Revisited, i think it's the V3, but anyway there is a message that says what's the Revisited version you need to use.

It seems you want to feel the old times. :)

I always like using old mods. I'll try to find a way to extract w/o the EXE.
EDIT:
Is it possible to 7z the .EXE?

Ehm, what's the problem with the EXE? Run the EXE and put the content in a empty folder. (Only if you want to know exactly the files that the mod contains and then move them to the MM2 folder.)


And no, 7z or RAR will do nothing to the EXE, EXE is EXE, you can't change it basically, well... right now i'm not completely sure. O_o

A shame that mod is locked, being one of the best graphic enhancer avaliable, it really deserves to be compatible with other mods. When I developed MM2 HD I even tried to avoid removing it's most notable features like the Museum of Fine Arts lake or the roads and sidewalk textures.

I got it installed, i'm always reluctant to run an unknown exe though... I noticed a lot of texture changes, very good, however not what I expected... I tried rv3 with it but unfortunately i was doing half traffic, full density cops, some peds, and a high poly car. Sooooo i had to do the good ol' Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
I think I'll stick with RV5.1.
Or just use the shaders and no rv.

Best combo for me is RV5 + SM2 Gold. Keep SM2 higher on alphabetic order and I suggest to get some reflections mod since I don't like the one coming with it.

RV5 is compatible with SM2 gold?

Mods are always compatible - they won't crash your game or anything - they just might add some of the same thing: for example, both replacing the texture "x". Then, the one in first order alphabetically will take effecteffect over the other. If you're thinking if would it replace stuff like the Museum of Fine Arts lake or the roads and sidewalk textures, it won't, neither conflict with RV's London changes. I don't have SM 2 on my game directory since I began developing MM2 HD, but if I remember well I had SM2 in first in the directory for best results.

When I said I fixed (most) compatibility issues with RV 5 on MM2 HD, I just meant an optimization to avoid overwriting it's best features (so you can still have the water effect on the Hyatt Regency hotel fountain, for example). The only actual compatibility patch is the extra file that basically adds the Gerkin to RV's custom London files.
