Which one?
Even though I don't have it, I prefer MM1.

We always end to discuss of the same things... :P There were already similar topics with some long discussions about the many differences between these 2 games, with a pool to vote, too.

I prefer MM2 for its flexibility with the modding, to be funnier and to be much more familiar with it. While, I prefer MM1 for the higher realism with the vehicles driving and for the different feeling that it gives.
To say what's the better, keeping the modding apart, of course it's MM1.

I've had bad experiences with MM1. Maybe that's just because I use Windows 7. I agree car performance is way better in MM1, particularly with things like auto-reverse. I also dug things like the car moving around when your tires began to wobble, the moving interior view, the headlight beams at night. Even though they weren't perfect and had their bugs, they were features that made MM1 stand out to me over MM2. The low poly addons also looked fun. I remember the Dodge Viper Convertible with a flames paintjob, a Ford F-100 Monster Truck a GMC Typhoon that crashed my game, a Chevy Van Monster Truck with 2 Punisher Paintjobs
