Small screen??

Postby EnzoSkylineMiura » Tue Jul 08, 2014 9:22 pm

I started playing MM2 for the first time in a LONG time, and I noticed that the main menu was shrunk into the middle of the screen, not distorted or anything, just a very small MM2 in the middle of the screen. It didn't crash or anything, so I looked in the graphics section and everything was normal. I don't know if this is a common problem or not, because I haven't played MM2 in at least 4 months, so don't laugh or make fun. Help is much appreciated because I want to do another SoTM entry. :D

I had that problem on my laptop, but now that it's dead I use the tower instead. The screen is a stretched 640x480, and I really don't like it that way, everything looks pixelated.

I'm pretty sure it's 640x480 like you said, but it's not stretched at all, just small in the middle of the screen. And btw my MM2 resolution is set to 1280x800.

Some drivers like to keep the resolution on the monitor, and put all the low-res content in the middle of the screen. I think it can be changed; I remember that on older Intel chipsets you could change this behavior.

Well I do have an Intel and I guess it's getting old, I'll look it up.

I've got what's this. It's a good feature now settable through the graphic card drivers settings, just take a look there.
I find it perfect to play 4:3/5:4 low screen resolutions on a Full HD and more 16:9/16:10 monitor without get the image enlarged in full screen, and so distorted.
You could keep this for the forced 640x480 pixels menus resolution, and have the native screen resolution of your monitor for the gameplay. Use Widescreen Tool to get the widescreen resolutions in the game graphic options.
