Rather than the built-in windows Compressed (zipped) Folder. Which do you think is better for .AR files compression?

WinRAR messes up MTX files somehow, but I still prefer it.

I prefer WinRar, but an older version of it, like the 3.80 that I always use to make .ar files. Recent versions can give working problems in-game because of their different ZIP compressing way, probably.
7-Zip is good, but personally I don't use it despite I keep it installed. I guess it shouldn't give working problems making ZIP compressed archives to turn into AR format.

So in that case, 7-Zip can make MTX files unreadable too? I'd rather stay with WinRAR then

I haven't said that, I just said that 7-Zip is good to make .ar files and that I don't use it. So far, I don't know of cases of problematic .ar files made with 7-Zip, unlike with the most recent versions of WinRar.
WinZip isn't suggested to make .ar files, also because they become impossible to be read by Maxoff's programs.

Well I think I'll go with 7-Zip then, Since I don't wanna downgrade WinRAR.
