I just found a GIF on google images, and scaled it down in paint and saved it as gif. I put it as my profile pic and its not animated. How can I get it to animate?

I'm not really sure you can. Atleast I haven't seen anyone with one, but Franch will be able to answer that better than me :P

Dont edit them in paint, paint.net might help. If it won't then just search for some Gif editor in google ;)

Indeed, Windows Paint supports GIF file format, but it doesn't support multi-frame GIFs. Download the 30 days trail of GIF Movie Gear from here and use it to resize all the frames of the animation.

You have to upload it to an images hosting website like PostImage (it doesn't require registering), then get the direct URL link, copy it and paste it in the Profile page field called "Link to off-site Avatar". Finally, click on the Submit button.
