Well, I think they did it simply because they can, right? There's nothing saying they should follow a certain name order.

If you make a quick search on the Internet like I just did, multiple websites point possible reasons for this, but the most plausible one is they simply wanted to make a distance from the failure Windows 8 was. Another possible reason is they were going to use Roman numbers and thought "Windows X" would appeal younger users. :P

Windows 8 lol. The stupid windows which was there from last year in my school's computers. No students (including me) found anything on it when it was used the first time.

And how is that Windows 10, is it too stupid like 8 or what?

Would a virtual PC help? You can probably get MM2 running on a virtual copy of 98/2000/XP.

But what we really need is Windows XP Service Pack 4-a version of XP that is (x64) and (x32).

BTW, does anyone get distracted with any OS newer than 7? I used to get everything done with XP but 7 always gets me off track nowadays.

Anyone who upgraded to Win10 felt stupid, other than that - disappointing as usual.

Step up in petulance, one could say. A couple of weeks of enduring nagware and them Auto Updates, here I am .. reverted back to our beloved Win8. My report card gives Privacy a no-go. Wonder how the security is. Never bothered to compare the predecessors with it .

Yeah, I agree with you about the privacy policies (or lack of them). I really think companies should feel ashamed for disrespecting the users in such a way, claiming that the information collected is used to "improve the services", which normally is, but also sold to add companies that can do whatever they want with it, like continuing to give spam adds to everybody. First Facebook, then AVG, and now Microsoft following the same steps. As far as I know they don't sell nothing for adds but still, there should be a way to completely disable that function on W10,not just forcing people to accept it on the user agreement.

Apart from that, the new Windows is ages ahead the processor in terms of performance and productivity.

EXACTLY why I gave up on Facebook too.

But I didn't find any performance improvements at all. Laptops still don't have optimization. Windows update in itself is more than enough to drain the juice.

I noticed an improvement of the performance in gaming, specifically on GTA V. The game would stutter sometimes and there was an odd bug where the buildings would sometimes get invisible as you pass by and to fix thar I had to change the priority of the game to "high" on the task manager. All of that is gone now, it handles full screen with medium/ high graphics just as before, but totally smoothly now.

I already got the Windows 10 anniversary update and well... The only difference that I thought it was good and catched my eye was the fact the lock screen wallpaper is now also used on the password screen, so I'd say it didn't felt that awesome.

I was hoping Cortana was finally avaliable in portuguese since they mentioned a lot of new stuff for it but nope, the changes on the start menu made it more confusing imo and I was "greeted" with Microsoft Defender activating itself and being way more intrusive than before, and OneNote popped up two times in a row.

It's being great so far, uh? :P

IIRC (atleast that's how it was in the insider builds, but it should be too in the Aniversary Update), you can enable Cortana in any language that is supported, while still keeping the system's language your own. I know I have done this, and it's not that big of a deal having to speak in English to Cortana (it's even a good exercise :P )

Tbh I'd actually prefer it to be in English :P mainly when the Portuguese option is Brazilian.

Well, I'll do some search about that subject, thanks!
