I've been interested in trying to do some car into mm2, they might be at first for personal tests, but what version is mostly used? I have 3, but I don't know if the most recommended is that one.

The best version of ZModeler to use to make cars for MM2 is indeed the 1.07b, available here. Better if you use the Maxoff's PKG filter with it, available here, also to don't get program crashes when you import the .pkg files.
The newest 3 versions and the previous 2 ones don't support an old game like MM2, of course.
