Update:

San Francisco PD livery finally done, made specially for the SF track. (Yes the track is Chicago... And I'm loving it!)

ImageImageImage

Also added Pop-up Headlights for night times. Most of the time the HLIGHT's weren't appearing for some reason even though I did all the axis resetting and copying HLIGHT object and pasting etc. Atleast for this time I was able to display the Pop-Up headlights. Anyone else encounter this problem after exporting every time?

Next up are the London and Chicago PD's. Thanks for the response guys!

HLIGHT is a deprecated object that will not show in Midtown Madness 2

if you're talking about HEADLIGHTs then I havent had that issue

Oh I actually missed the fine print lol. To answer that question, yes I have had that happen too, but like aaron says, it depends on which object you mean first. So the Headlights (0,1) or Hlight?

Thanks guys!

@Stan: I'm not quite sure which I would mean first but I've been using both HLIGHT_L and HEADLIGHT(0,1)_H:m (in one vehicle) since the first time I started converting (I've always followed this tutorial where I place the Headlight(0,1) objects, then copy those and unite them as HLIGHT). This never happened to me before, now it's like a gambling machine, everytime I make changes to the car, reset axis, then export I either get one headlight working, sometimes neither work, sometimes both work.

Should I just not use HLIGHT_L at all? And since it won't show up in MM2 then I'm assuming it has to do with the Headlight(0,1) objects.

Well hlight doesn't really do anything, so it's not necessarily the cause, but yes you don't need it. Anyway, since you're also using headlight 0,1 and still experiencing this problem, then it must be the same issue I have sometimes. Thing is, for me it was only one of the headlight objects that would disappear, not both, so I know how you could fix it if only 1 disappeared, but try it anyway: First make copies of both headlight 0 and 1 and delete the originals & rename the copies back to original names. Then try exporting without centering the axis (as it already should be centered for everything else). If it was only 1 of the objects disappearing, you would simply copy the headlight that appears ingame and mirror/reorient/move it to the opposite spot (and again, do not center axis on export, with this method). If these don't work, then it might be a completely separate issue.

Tried your method, and the problem was solved. Thanks Stan!

Update:

London PD (or City of London you could say) livery is almost done, few more editing needed because personally I think it looks weird but good at the same time, but I want your thoughts.
ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Dash and sounds are done. Tuning needs a few bits of tweaking, need to add the evening version of the pop-up headlights, and will add a few more generic (NFS) liveries.

Also, would you guys like to see the SF, London and Chicago police liveries applied to the AI cop mod in its respective tracks? Or would you prefer the NFS Rivals as the default?

Awesome, this is looking really good. If it's not too much trouble, I would prefer the appropriate livery for each city (NY livery for NYC etc). Adds a bit of realism, and the game does that by default.

Are you using WinRAR to make AR files? If so that's your problem with headlights. WinRAR refuses to properly compress MTX files, and MM2 cannot read them correctly. Resulting in broken wheels/headlights/smoke objects, or even making them completely invisible.
