There is the pic of my amateur scratch made project:

And it's easy to guess what car is it.

Better use GTA SA conversions of the TDU cars models, they'll be much easier to convert.

Not bad as scratch making start, but post some wireframe pictures to see how's your polygons placement. It seems to be the Fiat Seicento.

Keep the Scratch made one up, You have half of it done, so why not finish it?

Great start on your own scratch made car. Indeed, show wireframes of the car or atleast flatshaded view so we can get a better idea of the shape of the car.

If you want to improve the model, please fix your vertices.

Keep the main lines active otherwise when you'll calculate the faces, your car will become a black mass. BTW you can right now click on surfaces > normals > calculate.

Here's some tips (by Burner) :

I dunno if you've read this tutorial but some pics are evident to know more about the poly placement. Moreover you can check the cars that you converted to MM2 by checking the wireframe of these.

Iw as using old HQTM tourtorial.I know they were placed wrong, but that was needed for making model more reaistic.

Can you give me a link about this tutorial ? Hummfred has never made a car with ZM (only from 3DS Max), I didn't remember this tutorial :?

BTW isn't an excuse ^^ If you don't fix normals now, it will be more hard later and to be honest the car don't look realistic so far.

I simplified but here's some tips to start this car :

It's toutorial in Polish, and it was based on GTA3 toutorial,so it's only on Polish version of their site.

OH! I accidentally found that tutorial on YouTube yesterday. LOL.

Sajmon, your car looks good for a first model. If I have a tip for you, its to think of modeling with rectangular shapes as the base unit instead of triangles. Use the rectangles to make long strips that outline a portion of the car. Soon you will notice the whole car is made up of long strips of rectangles that are next to each other.

You may find some modeling tips in lesson 7 of my tutorial. Also, practice to see everything in polygons by playing my game, "Polygonize It".

The polygons placement isn't very well. You need especially to move the vertices to get a better shape. I suggest to follow the breaking method of Burner.

PS: posts splitted as new topic because of order reasons, to separate your scratch made projects from your conversions projects.

I have problem with the added faces, some of them are black, do you know how to remove this "black"?I tried with detaching and then making it 1 object, but that wasn't working.
