Try signing up to discord using a new email and then try and join the server and see if you get through

It works for me at least, when I clicked the link a button appeared which said accept, which I clicked and I was put in the server. Not sure what's going on in your case

Besides the MM series, one retro game which I still occasionally play from way back when is Super Smash Bros. Melee (Japan/America 2001 release, Europe 2002 release). Lots of fun.
