For your information, I wasn't dissin' the CTS, I was making only a logical point... ;) | 5 | Revan174 (05 Feb 2010 00:47:01) | Don't diss the CTS :)
Nice pic though :D | 4 | Deanna Troi (03 Feb 2010 16:54:28) | Indeedy... ;)
I haven't watch that movie you mentioned, but I heard that it was actually a good movie. :D
When I mentioned "Around The World in 80 Days", I meant that back in the Viking era or such, there were large sea ships making their way around the early Earth during those days. ;)
And as for pink slips, if a racer shall lose the race, then he shall also have his ride taken away by the winner, so to speak, that's what the term "pink slip" meant, putting it in a street racing term. Clearly, racing for pink slips is a very high-stakes game, just like casino gambling... ;) | 3 | Earlduke12488 (03 Feb 2010 07:16:46) | Oh, it's slow in acceleration, now I see where you come in with that. Well, makes perfect sense.
"Around The World in 80 Days", it kind-of reminds me a bit of the Tony Curtis movie "Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies", if you've ever seen that. It's been I don't know how long since I've seen that movie, not really a big fan of it, but it is funny and cool to watch, though. :)
So in "Around The World in 80 Days", there was some kind of street racing? With horses or was it something else entirely? I'm confused.
I didn't know that back in the '70s (and maybe '60s) that ambulances and police cars, among standard cars and trucks of the day, were involved in street racing, lol. :) That's kind-of insane, that they were actually involved then, lol.
Come to think of it, it almost reminds me of the Twisted Metal games (except that the cars don't have assorted weapons to destroy each other with and without the dark characters that you play with as well as duel against, especially without Sweet Tooth and Calypso, lol.)
Not to mention back in the '50s to the '70s, there were some street races (some illegal, some not, I guess) held where people would be "racing for pinks" (pink slips, some kind of slip that you used to get whenever you bought a new car or something to that effect and it had all this certain information on it & everything, correct me if I'm wrong though.) | 2 | Deanna Troi (03 Feb 2010 00:21:16) | Slow, in terms of acceleration, not top speed (at least, in this case, just not all luxury cars). But it is fast, overall. ;)
And why 80 hours? Because I am playing it like Cannonball Run (if you hadn't noticed yet, the title also is a reminiscent of the Jules Verne classic novel "Around The World in 80 Days") as it also resembled the good ol' days of illegal street racing (back in the 1970's, with standard cars and trucks, even ambulances and police cars). ;) | 1 | Earlduke12488 (02 Feb 2010 23:47:41) | Is the Cadillac CTS or CTS-V as slow as I think you're saying it is? I thought it was relatively fast (Well, as far as a luxury sport sedan like it goes, that is.) But why 80 hours? |
