Thx. :) I finally can play Crisis on 1440x900, Very High and with AA without framerate drops. :)
Yeah, nice computer Albee. ;)

Crysis isn't a game, but a PC performances benchmark! :P To play it without lag at least at 1280x1024, with filters and Very High quality you need the actual top or something similar. :P :)

Used my old pc today..had a wacky idea.

I now have 3 computers....but only 1 screen for 2 pc's so I can't use the 2 pc's. (Well I can using RDC and my laptop)

I had to find my old gfx card...and it went from there. I decided that I would either put linux or Win2k on my old pc and I put win2k, becuase I had a win2k license still.

It goes like this:

Computer 1.

Pc Name: Dell Dimension 9200
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Sp1
Processor: Intel® Viiv™ Dual Core (1.86GHz,1066MHz,4MB)
Monitor: Dell™ 20" Black Wide Flat Panel.
Memory: 4096MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM, Made by Hyundai :O (1024 mb X 4)
Hard Drive: 320GB Serial ATA RAID 0 Stripe
Graphics Card: 256MB nVidia™ GeForce 8600GTS
Keyboard: Dell™ Enhanced USB Multimedia Keyboard
Mouse: Dell 2 Button USB Scroll Optical Mouse - Black
Sound Card: Integrated Audio with Dolby Digital 7.1 capability
-
Internal 13-in-1 Media Card Reader
Dell Speakers (Came with my old pc)
Seagate 400GB External HD

-

Computer 2

Laptop Name: Dell Inspiron 6400
Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP3
Processor: Intel® Centrino Duo™ T2050 Processor (1.60 GHz,)
Memory: 512MB 1.60 GHz
Hard Drive: 320GB Serial ATA RAID 0 Stripe
Graphics Card: Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family
Mouse: Dell HID Complaint Mouse (From old PC)
Sound Card: SigmaTel High Definition Audio
-
Seagate 400GB External HD (Same as one with my PC)
-

Computer 3

Pc Name: Dell Dimension 4600 P4
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000 Sp4
Processor: Intel Pentium 4
Monitor: Dell™ 20" Black Wide Flat Panel.
Memory: 756 MB
Hard Drive: 1 70GB
Hard Drive: 1 70GB
Graphics Card: 128MB DDR nVidia Geforce FX 5200
Keyboard: Dell™ Standard 101 Keyboard.
Mouse: Crazy Small Mouse
Sound Card: Creative Audigy Audio processer (WDM)
-
Seagate 400GB External HD

Windows 2000 is mighty fast on my 'new' old pc :P

Little update to my (new) old PII:
It's now a DualHead workstation. :p
I connected my old Sony Triniton Color TV to it. Now I've always my amaroK in eye while I'm playing under Windows XP on my AMD box or when i'm surfing with it. ;)

Btw.: It's now Windows XP SP3 and Ubuntu 8.04.

lol PII, where is the time :D :D I never had it, switched from 8088 to 486 DX to PIII :hahaha: atm I'm at PIII omg, since my PIV got fried by the lightning :572:
I have another s478 mobo for it, but need to buy CPU I think ... I found website in Germany which still sells it
great ;)
don't want to buy new comp because I can fix this with minor exspenses, and it's still good for M$ Office + internet & games like WR2/TDU/MM2/NFS Carbon-ProStreet-Most Wanted/Racer... etc :D
except very latest games not possible to play like CMR DiRT and so
will get new one within year or something

edit: btw this PIII totally sucks, it's too slow and has crapspecs. like:
20GB HDD (samsung :hahaha:)
+ my 80GB mounted to it
3*128MB sdram?
AGP 2x ? Creative 3d annihilator Pro geforce 256
3com Etherlink ISA (yes isa slot :hahaha:) PNP Ethernet adaptor
the mobo is so modern it only sees hdd drives upto 130GB omg :ban:
lol but I can connect to the net so I'm happy xD
This PIII is like 6 years old or more  it first had win ME and now XP :)

Did some tweaks:
- New graphics card (Zotac GF 9800 GTX AMP! Edition) because the previous one has burned down to hell.
- New mainboard (EVGA nForce 750i SLI FTW) because the previous one sucked.
- Clocked the CPU up to 3,2 Ghz.

lol your writing .. it's too funny

Btw. I'm at MSI PT880 Pro Neo which is totally shitty , even doesn't recognize USB 2.0 (after bios reset & format C)

In very beginning of July I buy new computer :D can't even acces my ext. HDD on a decent way now pfff :?
MSI = crap (lol I can't even upgrade my bios)
I downloaded bios update, they say make boot disk, I did ... than I boot from boot disk, and than I have to acces hdd to acces bios update files (which I had to extract according to them to c:\test)
now the funny thing is I can't even acces my HDD (c drive) in DOS mode hahaha ~ totally noobed
crap-sh*t-zor MSI !!!

Asus = The best !!!
sad it got burned by lightning & the shop didn't return me an asus ... gonna prosecute them for that because they kept the back-up for themselves and probably sold it to another customer for big money !

Was once upon a time very pleased with my MSI GeForce FX5600 card, my bluetoothstick from MSI does a good job, but bad reports about the service and quality of MSI products accumulate.

I think I'll save my money to get a nice lil' ... Lenovo Thinkpad R61 *g*

Lol, I don't want to play current games on it. ;)
It's a notebook, it's portable, no gaming machine.
With much luck the installed Windows XP and Intel graphicchipset can offer me support for old games I can't play on my amd box anymore. :)

And another reason for the chipset is very good linux support (with OSS-drivers) and a low power consumption.
