Question on size/scale

Hello there.
I am curious as to how far 3km feels in MM2, or 1km (whichever is easier).
I would also be interested in knowing the probable size of San Francisco in game (in km preferably).
Does anyone know, or know of a way for working this out?
Thanks.

I don't think so. You could compare the size of the city itself to the real one(road lengths), but it's not very accurate.

A Ford Mustang Fastback is 4.66 m long, so if you were to make a track in which exactly 643.77 Mustang Fastbacks would fit from bumper to bumper, it would be 3 km long.

I've worked on this months ago, but on miles. Unfortunately, it was hard for me to find entire area/size of SF. I could find little things.

After several experiments, I found that-
1 Mile (in game) = 385.71428571428571428571428571429 units (in game)
= 385.71 units
This is hard to explain how I found that. I used a map editor and several programs.

If you're interested, I've an image of almost 1 Km on map. This appears strange, but it is true because it was experimented by real life formulas.

The last Fastback won't have a front.

Great, thanks! So for clarification, A-B and C-D were ~1km? So it's probably safe to say that the main road area of the map (excluding Golden Gate Bridge) is about 2x4km?, so the full map extent could be as much as 10x10km?

If that is so, is it possible to double that without killing the game?

Thanks, and thanks to all the other replies!

I kinda fancy trying this now :P

*Ahem* And I am here now to present results. So using Rohit's road as scale, that road has 1,13 Km, or 0,7 Miles. Counted in Photoshop, the road has 113 Px (funny coincidence, but ok :P)

Image

So, 100Px is 1 Km, or 0,62 Miles. Now, counting all the pixels at wide and height, we get this:

Image

So, the main land area is 2,68Km/ 1,67 Miles by 2,79Km/ 1,73 Miles, or 7,48Km

Great work guys.

It's very great to observe that the pixels do have a relation with in-game kilometers. That's amazing Diatosta. I never thought about that.
