Archipelago for MM2!

Hello,


I can now convert a track from MM1 to MM2! :) It is Archipelago!
I will convert iit to MM2.:) Should I get permission from tek_xcto? Or, should I even get permission to convert it since it's such an old track? hmmm. Pics!:

Impressive, great have got this track in ZModeler, now it can be made for MM2 through MM2 City Toolkit, good luck with it and with getting all the textures and track PROPS right. :wink:

The author is this track is gone since years, would be impossible try to contact him. Anyway, if in the Readme file of this track for MM1 there's an e-mail address try to send a permission e-mail to it. At MMArchive forum there's another MM1 releaser that has been active recently (don't remember who, I have to see), maybe he can help.

People have tried to do it before in the past and I don't think he's had a problem with those attemps. Permission shouldn't be a problem... does anybody even keep in touch with him anymore?

probably not, and why dont you post EVERY car anyone makes to your site anymore?

probably not, and why dont you post EVERY car anyone makes to your site anymore?
Why ask this? People post a file and details, then he approves and posts it, MMArchive is a old site, and he has no time to post every car.

Hi. I got most of the textures loaded. But, I cannot get it to work ingame. :( It crashes while loading at about 30-40%. All the textures are the right sizes(either 256x256 or 512x512). I split it into 4 objects(the highest polygons being around 2,400 polygons. It still wouldn't work. does anyone have any ideas?

4 objects? All non-psdl style tracks should have about 40-50 PKG's, highpoly ones about 100, maybe also some files may crash you

The reasons of the not working can be many. Better split the track in more PKG objects, making each of them have less than 1000 polygons; this will also reduce or completely remove the possible game lag playing it. Ok use the track original water plane as PKG object, but it needs to work like the PSDL water blocks. So, for the PSDL, is ok use a little 2 polygons plane hidden under the track.
This track deserves a quality converting, something that me and Sajmon are really able to do, seeing what we've done and released so far.

Hello,

I got the track ingame! :) Thanks Sajmon and Franch! I split it into 38 objects and now it works without any lag(even with the 45,000 polygon buick enclave!)! :) I put on all the textures for the track, but still need to put in the props. :)
