Track Enquiry

Postby FirstWyvern » Tue Jan 20, 2009 1:45 pm

I was woundering if it is possible to load a map of say a town on to zmodeller and create a track from the map.

I know you do the same as car/bus making but never thought about tracks.

thanks :)

As long as you get the map sized right it should work fine.

Hmmm. Getting the right size would mean a very very big blueprint, which in turn means very big file size.

What I did for Palm Sands 2; Make a top view sketch of the city/track, and model from that. Then you can scale it to much larger size.

I have no idea what size would be needed. Probably something big like 4096x4096--at least 2048x2048; even then you will need to scale them bigger in Zmodeler to make them big enough and the right size. It also depends on how wide you want the roads. You just have to size the map up, make a road, and test it in mm2 until it is big/small enough. If your track doesn't work and you can run it but not see it then it is too small.

You can use maps from Google. Or you could make your own if you wanted to make something fictional.

If you wanted to keep scaling to a minimum then maybe 8000x8000 would work good.

zmodeler 1.07 doesnt go over blueprints or texture size over 2024x2024.

ZM supports only 8192 pxl. If you want to load a texture with 9999*9999 pxl, the size will be reduced to 8192*8192.

Don't exceed 4096 pxl even for a blueprint.
