I was trying to replace the default cars in MM2 but I can't remember how it was done. i did it a while ago and it worked fine but when I try now it doesn't work so i am probably missing something, I am sure all you had to do was rename the *.info file in tune but it appear that is not the case. If anyone knows please post.

I believe that all your car's files must have the same interior car base name of the MM2 car to replace (for example: car base name "vpbug" to replace the MM2 VW New Beetle). You need to change the name of all files in all folder and change the basename string in the .info file with the same of the car that you want to replace.

you got it right again! but you missed one thing. the file must be ahead of mm2core. but if you wait a little longer, my mm2 overhauled! mod will replace all defaults with higher poly and better detailed versions with half interiors and trans parent glaass

This is why some cars and mods have the esclamative dot to the begin of the file name, to put them up in name sort and on first rows on vehicle selection for the cars. I've noticed that. So if this type of mod it's ahead mm2core.ar file, that has all game models', it works.
About your great MM2 Overhauled! Mod I still wait for your work and when it'll be release sure I'm goin' to try it! But a queston: how "half interiors" on high polygons models?

well, it will be released whenever deafault cars a replaced. and half interiors reduce unwanted polies. plus i really really hate modeling interior. the models arent really high poly, theyre medium. on full grid races it would cause problems, especially with the 18,000 poly sfpd crown vic. traffic is medium too, about 500-1000 polies. the default traffic is 50-150 polies. the default player cars are 500-800 polies. the new ones will be 1500-3000. half interior will look fine with dark tinted wndows. there will be a dash outline, flat panel just below the windows and seat tops and a drivers head.

Ok, half black interiors means a low detailed interiors, like the MM3 player and traffic cars. The polygons numbers for player and traffic cars are the good ones, the important thing is that it looks good. The VGA performances will be very compromises displaying many high polygons models.
This means that you're making new medium polygons models or you're edit the previous said models.

Thanks everyone, by the way richard you dont need to rename all the files, just the info file.
