So I have a problem I am absolutely stumped on. Everything is going great on the BMW conversion except for one thing. When I export it in game the body texture is fully transparent in game. I thought it was probably an alpha channel but it was not. I have literally tried everything. I made a whole new body texture, still nothing. I tried removing any texture for the body show it would show up as white unmapped and it was still transparent. I thought maybe it was link to another texture that was transparent so I split the whole body from everything else, created a new material and assigned it still with the same issue. I can not think of anything else to try. It couldn't be a texture issue because I have tried everything that involves textures. Is there something in the model of the exterior that can cause transparencies that don't involve a material?

I have had this problem before, a) The livery is RLE Compressed, or b) you have te texture loaded on a nother material

Weird problem. 8O Are .TGA textures RLE compressed? They shouldn't be; but even if textures are RLE compressed, they will look messed up and not transparent. What is the size of textures? Or you could try to make one more copy of the texture assigned to BODY_H in Zmodeler and assign roughly half faces of the BODY_H to that new copy. But not sure if that works..

Nope no RLE compression, that was the first thing I checked. And I have tried all sizes it's only a single color for the body texture. I have tried a 32x32 24x24 48x48 128x128 none of the sizes make a difference. At this point like I said I have tried everything possible involving textures it's almost like it's something in the exterior body model itself causing it. because there's nothing left that could be causing it from the textures.

Re-import the PKG into a new Zmod window, check if the materials list has

bodypaint0
bodypaint1
bodypaint0

Or a similar pattern, this happened to me YEARS ago!

When I attempted to import the pkg file it crashed zmodeler. Hmm I'm almost ready to bail on this model. I honestly couldn't think of anything else that could be done. I have tried everything.

This problem should be related on how the texture has been made, mainly its file format. I remember to have experienced this kind of problem with Bitmap textures saved in less colors than 24 bit and with the game engine rendering set to Hardware with T&L; choosing Hardware Rendering without T&L the texture resulted all opaque, instead. This can't the the same case, though (but a such case happened to Sajmon, he should still remember it). :P
If the car body colors textures are just plain colors, just save them with a size of 16x16 pixels. Maybe can be what Aaro says, that happens when you have more materials that have the same texture file assigned listed one after the other, it's something that you haven't to let happen. Because of it, in-game you just get no texture visible, but the material reuslts in its color, usually white, not totally transparent.
The ZModeler 1.07b version crashing when you import a PKG file is a known fact, so use the Maxoff's PKG filter or the 1.05 version. Give me all the files for a check if you don't want anymore to spend time on this.

Introducing my newest conversion, A BMW Alpina B6 GT3 from Need for Speed Shift 2. I really like this model and with the problems with my other conversions I figured I would take a break with that and start a new one. This BMW will have similar features to the other BMW, including LED tail/reverse lights, realistic tuning, high res textures. A dashboard is unplanned due to no one has done this car before, unless someone would be interested in making one. (Credit will be given of course ;) )

This car has a very detailed body and interiors and great high res textures.

BODY
Faces: 44593
Vertices: 38463

WHEELS (single)
Faces: 1880
Vertices: 1653

Let me know what you think and if someone would want to do a dash. Thanks for checking it out :D

Nice race car, the model is just great, as normal in Shift 2 Unleashed game. Someone else planned to do this car, but would be ok if you take it. It's possible make a dashboard using the high quality 3D interiors, not available ripped at Riva's website, though.

Who has also planned this one? I searched and the only thing I saw was jorge14 planning to do every NFS Shift 2 car but that was some time ago and he has released other cars from other games since then. Either way surely one less car from the game wouldn't be to big of an issue :/

I like this car. As you can probably tell I've been into racing/drift style cars lately. I love the track racing style vehicles and this one really caught my eye.
