MM1: Why can't I extract race city archive

I've tried to extract RaceCity 2 archive several times, and It doesn't work at all. It keeps saying Can not create file DEAR.EXE

I just want to edit some AIMAPS, so why can't it be extracted? :roll:

This case is similar with the one of DeAR 2 and the MM2 add-ons and mods .ar files, where the program isn't able to extract them because it works only with the four game default .ar files. These programs are designed only for them.
As far as I know, Aaro found a way to extract the MM1 add-ons and mods .ar files.
Fiat 500 = Italian motorization. Franch88, MM2 eXtreme forum and website Administrator.

Well it is the only mod that I cannot extract, but the rest are fine. Anyway why are some archives in MM2X are corrupted according to the WinRAR?

Because their authors think they made something so significant that someone will 'steal' their stuff and to prevent this from happening, they lock the archives with some program made to do so. Locked .ar files show as corrupt archives in WinRAR.

To be fair, most mm1 stuff was scratch made. They didn't really do many conversions(some , and a very limited amount of, nfs3-4 cars).

They're not 'locked'. They're a format which is different than mm2's regular *.ar format.
