Need suggestion for graphic card

Postby RohitXL5 » Sun May 12, 2013 11:26 am

Hi,
I'm having a new CPU soon. I'm confused that which graphic card should I use. I need suggestion for graphic card which compatible with MM1 & MM2 as well as new games like GTA IV and NFS.
Which graphic card would you suggest?

Choose it depending by your budget for it. Go for a mainstream model, like the AMD Radeon HD 7770 or the Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti. The games that you want to play doesn't seem to be all heavy, except GTA IV, however for the recent ones you would have to low their graphic settings.

Depends on your budget.

I recommend the AMD 7850, Nvidia GTX 660 Ti if you're on a budget of ~300 USD for a card.

If you're willing to go above that then GTX 680 or the AMD 7950 are great cards. I recommend the AMD 7950 because you get a lot more for what you pay.

I found an Asus Nvidia card under budget. Don't know it's name.
My question is that all the Asus Nvidia cards will work for MM1 and MM2?

I'll tell you a secret: You like programming don't you ?

So,as i have seen in the internet,GTA IV doesn't use 100% of your graphic card,it's a problem in one of the txt. files that you can fix...

I saw another thing: You CAN (i doubt that but i think you can) run GTA IV with a Intel graphic, there's a tutorial on youtube that leads to a page that has a more detailed, explained, and a bit more longer tutorial...

PS: Burnout Paradise is a bit playable (10-15 fps i think) on a normal Notebook graphic card (one of those Intel ones that have only 512 MB of memory)

I can say that one about Burnout Paradise by myself :D,it runs pretty low but it runs...sometimes crashes etc.

The brand doesn't matter. The model of the card does.

NVidia and AMD license different manufacturers/brands to build and sell their products.

What I really need to know is what series and model it is, for example; Nvidia GTX 680 or AMD HD 7950

For MM games in particular, steer away from NVidia and get an ATI. Less buggy and don't have flying stuff everywhere :P

Not necessarily. But yes, most AMD cards are almost neck-to-neck in performance with Nvidia.

You get more bang out of your buck with AMD.

NVidia seems not to like older games. I have realized that with my computer

The only day i had a problem with MM2 about graphics was in my mom's old notebook that had and VGA crappy graphic card (256 MB ONLY !)

Graphic cards ain't a problem for me anymore BECAUSE i play Xbox 360 more than PC and my graphic is an Intel graphic card with 1GB of memory...it runs mostly all the old games like MM2,Carmageddon 2,GTA:SA etc.

Intel will run all old games and new, One of my laptops has it, But my other computer has an onboard NVidia and cant play MM2 right but the Radeon can.

OH RIGHT! NASCAR Racing 2002/2003 Season has many glitches with my Alienware's NVIDIA I have noticed, The classic polygons flying everywhere NVidia glitch (happens in MM2 betas).

Yeah there's an ongoing problem with Nvidia's and older games. The driver's and hardware are optimized for newer software.

Oh yay!
I got my new graphic card and new CPU.
I got a HIS ATi Radeon HD 6570 and it works really smooth and good for MM2. MM1 didn't detected it but with the help of Dummiesboy and Aaro4130, I got a program to fix it and it worked!
Thanks for all suggestion guys.
