IMO the best way to learn the 3D modeling (for a game ?) it's definitely Zanoza Modeler 1.07b (not the 1.05 final, not the 2.xx).
Moreover a new excellent tutorial is now available with some MM2 lessons, so the choice is simple.
Download ZM 1.07b
Download the Silent's PDF tutorial
Check this tutorial online
PS : the first lessons are available also as video tutorials, check the last link to find them.

thanx, those tutorials looks nice
First I wanna try to model something, later I maybe make it for games
Edit: Avast says it has a virus :O (Win32:DelAll-J [Trj])
And AVG too!
Spybot says nothing
Is this a false warning?
I downloaded it from your link and from zmodeler2.com
all those two contain a trojan

Don't worry, my Avast says the same thing too: it's a false alarm. The antivirus detect a virus in the Nullsoft installation file of Zmodeler 1.06, 1.07a and 1.07b, but the whole program files are virus free. Shut down the antivirus to install it.
On the contrary, AVG 8 doesn't detect nothing for me.
About modeling, the use of the Silent1Unknown's tutorial is the best way to start, because it's a very well made tutorial easy to understand; a bit less the video versions, that won't have the other tutorial steps.
To make 3D models for games is better to use the ZModeler 1 or also the 2 (for particular uses). I found the Blender hard to use because of the less user friendly interface, but reading some its use tutorial you'll get nice results to model with it.

Autodesk Maya is a professional program to make 3D renderings and animations. You can modeling with that too, but it's more specialized for the first things, and with it you can do very high polygons 3D models, and this kind of programs needs a lot of hardware resorces. BTW ZModeler needs lot of memory, because it's going to saturate it. To make 3D models to be used for games ZModeler is a very good choice; 3DS Max is pretty indicate to make 3D models to be put in games.
I've used Maya for a bit in some 3D animation lessons, and it's pretty difficult to use. I prefer Maxon Cinema 4D as 3D rendering and animation program, because it's has a more user frendly interface, and I've learned to use it years ago.

Thank you, it should be available at the end of this year.BTW: Franch, Your website looks promising!

The rendering is the final phase of a 3D scene or animation building. It lets you see the final result of the building scene. Doing the rendering of a scene allows to see the lights, shadows, textures effects, effects, etc. in the scene. The rendering, of course, it's also used for 3D animations.
Just take for examples the famous 3D animations movies and some pictures rendered in Cinema 4D by Riva here.
The rendering isn't necessary to make models just for training and destinated for the games.

Gmax program is designed for some games, and it in this sense works like the ZModeler. The GUI (graphic user interface) is very similar to 3DS Max program.Or, what about Gmax???? It's a old 3dsmax I want just do 3d modeling! I mean My models doesn't have to put in a game
