MM2: Bad Cops Physics

Postby Doof4294967296 » Sat Jul 25, 2015 2:31 pm

I've noticed this since then! Well cops glide away in the mid-air when they get hit or crashed so hard. And even worse if they are in the distance where they stop chasing you, they get suspended in the air. WTF?!

Classic bug. Unless it's some sort of issue with the aerodynamic settings in their vehcarsim, this is probably unfixable.

vpcop.vehcarsim has a downforce value of 1, that could be the problem.

That should make it drive like the GTR-1.

No, It happens no matter what car they use, Not sure if this happens to the IRTpanozNOS though I'll test it later. A.I. Cops were programmed in a different way.

Not at all. I mean this game is almost 15 years old. I don't expect more realism for this game.

Realism you say ? Also, this isn't about physics at all. A plain bug it is. Probably the AI designers made it in such a way that it boosts further to keep up with the player car as soon as its out of the cop's attention radius.. but forgot to add something that stops it when the player is back in the radius :P. Or the force that's supposed to stop it is made weak, either way it seems unsolvable.

Keanu Reeves chose the Red pill and started bending spoons. I chose ZModeler 1.07b and made my own Matrix.
