MM2: What is blade.dll?

The support module named "blade.dll" in the game directory. I bet you all are familiar with it. What is its significance?

It's something of the game.

I remember seen a Blade file somewhere in other game, or it was in mm2?

It's a file certainly needed for the working of the game, but seems like it's not clear what's its purpose. It's also used in Motorcross Madness 2.

What do you mean? This file is not only for Midtown Madness 2? Game titles are a bit Identical. I've heard about that game before.

Yeah, a couple other games from the 90s had this too, including Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean series but they weren't from the 90s. Try googling 'Blade Software Rasterizer' and its background audio decoding functions. Dunno if it has to do anything with games' injecting functions. Must be a different blade.dll. Wonder why an obsolete file is brought into question

Ok, so it's something related with the audio functionality of the game, used also for other games.
And yes, of course I mean that game, part of the Madness series by Microsoft. Many of us who played MM2 have also played these other games.

If I remember right, it has something to do with the software renderer. Blade may even be the name of the software renderer itself.
