[insert track name here]

Postby HummersRock » Wed Jan 29, 2014 2:44 am

So yeah, new track. Just because I wanted to. I actually want to start modeling higher quality tracks and start messing around with rendering, etc. But to get myself warmed up, I'll start with one for MM2.

I suppose it will be will a mix of Zarcon and TraFar. Probably small. Don't want to spend too much time, just want to make something.

If what you're seeing looks familiar, that's because it's a section of Zarcon that has been modified. I'll probably modify it some more. Would be nice if I could get some pre-made houses/buildings or at least good textures for such things. I don't enjoy making good looking buildings--I prefer making nature things.

Looks nice, specially the smooth road. :) At first I thought you're using 3D Max, lol because creating intersections in Zmodeler is really time consuming and could be easily done by just creating copies(by just using 2 keys Shift and D) of already made templates in some other program like Blender. (or 3D Max)
I wonder what it would be named. :o

Yeah, I took part of Zarcon, so I have two different intersections already made, and I just copy them as needed.

I don't know how Zarcon works as well as it does with traffic. Looking at it now, it's hideous. Some roads and sidewalks are different widths than others.

If you wanna save resources(I know you have satellite internet).. use Dropbox.com and upload stuff there. Photobucket probably uses a lot of data.

Great work! Show of at MMArchive.

Welp, this just got ambitious. I'm gonna need a lot of buildings/houses now.

Looks really intresting. :)

So, will it look like a real environment (I mean, grass, asphalt, etc)?

BTW some sugestions, dunno what you think: if you are intrested in add some trees, please don't add so much like in TraFar, it lags so much, at least in my computer.

Also, it would be cool in a rally style/ arcade style, as I saw in you last screenshot you made some little ramps that will probably be really cool to jump in high speeds, and unless this would be a city and not a rally style track like I think, I would suggest to dont make so square turne like those 90

Yes, it will.

I'll keep that in mind. There will probably be fewer trees.

The inaccuracy/lack of precision (never know which word to use) of Zmodeler 1.07 is astounding. It seems zoom changes slightly the positions of vertices (I've probably said this before).

I also can't believe how bad I used to be at this.
