I'm not really into the subject, but I assume it means it will work according to the daytime/weather and in every map, right?

Yes. It may not look right on steep PSDL mountains, but it will be better than no shading at all.

Would it be possible to improve the light glows on the cars? One thing I found annoying is the way that they do not render over the car, not only that but if the car has glass over the headlamps, you have to move the light glows outside the glass for them to be visible, which is really annoying with addon cars because it looks like the light glow is coming out of mid air instead of directly from the headlamps. If it is possible to fix this, if it is that would be a vital fix.

It's been over half a year since the last ^update^. Is there still progress? If yes, can you show your work?

If everything goes as planned, this should be released this year. Lots of new stuff since last time

Just a sneak peek at what's to come:

- No need to delete players file if an invalid vehicle is selected, it will revert to the VW Beetle if this happens
- Fixed BigAir triggering on freeways and such
- Readded water splash sound
- You will be teleported back if you go out of map now. Very useful for multiplayer!

Too many things have been added to this to say in one post, and it's fun to leave people guessing a bit :P

The new evening shading looks amazing here! Can't wait to see how the rest of the visual changes look.

The teleportation thing is some great news, too. Now we can finally roam around in NOS vehicles without having to restart a game session over and over again!

Did you happen to find the max speed in there? Just curious (hint: In metric, it's exactly 1,800 kilometers per hour (500 meters per second), just in case you found such a number). I don't know if that would be changeable or not, given that you were able to find a way to change what happens when going out of map; something that I thought was even more difficult, given that we don't even have the source code to work with.

BTW, what exactly is BigAir triggering? I've never heard of it.

Sorry for the bump, but are you ever going to release this patched EXE? It's been over a year since you last mentioned it.

The nature of this project has changed greatly since it was originally started. It's now known as MM2Hook, and dev builds can be found in the Midtown Club discord server.

It still fixes the stuff mentioned here, and alot more. It even enables ragdoll physics from hitting pedestrians, using code left over from Midnight Club.

Any chance you could give me a direct link to the newest verson, or at least tell me how to get in without a phone verification?

We do not have any sort of moderation enabled for new members. You should be able to join even without a verified email.

Regardless, you can download the latest build here. You only need the .dll file, so ignore the .pdb included in the archive.

EDIT: Almost forgot, you'll probably want the mm2hook.ini config file too. That can be found on the github, here. This file lets you configure the various options of the hook. I think the hook will automatically generate it if it doesn't exist, but this version has descriptions for everything.
