I get some lagging too when driving on the grass, probably its because of the grass effect for the vehicles wheels applied on it, when it there's. But, my old PC pretty lags with MM2 by default, barely I get 30 FPS.

I don't think it's really lag, it's probably the hard suspension of some cars and their poor offroad control that makes the game look laggy.

You aren't totally wrong in saying that, in fact the FPS counter doesn't get always low while driving on grass. It's more a sort of impression.

Andy, you should install Fraps and try to drive on grass with the FPS counter on, to check if it does drop.
