[TUT] Getting Hardware Rendering in MM1

Here it is. Replace the text that says GUIDNumber with your number (see the instructions on the first post). If you still cannot get hardware rendering try to install DirectX 6.1.

First try : The game ask again for checking the graphic card -> video.cfg that I maked is replaced by the game video.cfg so it doesn't work actually.

Second try : I put "read only" enabled in properties on the "new" video.cfg, but the game is checking again, BUT the file didn't change !?!

directx 6.1 is hard to install on windows 7 no ? I try to put a d3drm.dll file into system32 and the mm repertory but nothing change.

Well I'll be honest, this only seems to work with some people. Maybe it has to do with the fact that MM1 had alot of compatibility issues with non-ati or glide cards back in the day.

It's weird because I got a ATI(erf AMD).

I think I will make a virtual pc with XP and try again. Thanks !

Make that it has issues with random PCs. My friend has an HP with the same specs as mine and MM1 doesn't get hardware on that, but I get hardware on mine.
